Case Status and Referral Follow-ups
If you would like to know the status of a case that is pending at this office, we recommend that you call or email the OIS staff member that is handling your case. If you do not know who is handling your case, an OIS representative can help direct your call to your case manager.

Schedule an Appointment to Visit the Office
We recommend that you schedule an appointment if you need to speak with an OIS Specialist. This allows us time to prepare for your visit and, if appropriate, to have your documents ready when you arrive. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The Office of Immigration Services (OIS) is part of Office of Legal Counsel. The OIS staff assists the academic and administrative departments at the University of Oklahoma in obtaining and maintaining the appropriate immigration status for the employment of international faculty, scholars, and staff. 

Nima Zecavati, JD, MPH

Immigration Attorney - Office of Legal Counsel

 

As head of the OIS, Mr. Zecavati is responsible for supervising employment based immigration matters for all five campuses governed by the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents. Mr. Zecavati received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Central Oklahoma. He earned his Master of Public Health in Health Administration and Policy from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and was a Merit Scholar at Oklahoma City University where he earned his Juris Doctorate.

Mr. Zecavati has experience in a variety of areas of immigration law including employment and family based immigration law. He is a member of numerous professional associations including the Oklahoma Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Young Lawyers Association, American Bar Association and College and University Professional Association for Human Resources. Mr. Zecavati is licensed to practice law in the Western District of Oklahoma Federal Court and The Oklahoma State Supreme Court.

Suk-Han Chu (Isabel)

Lead Immigration AnalystARO/DSO

Ms. Chu advises OU-Norman and OU-Tulsa international faculty, staff, and campus departments on employment based immigration regulations including travel, employment, and maintenance of status, and provides integral support in H-1B,  E-3, TN, Conrad waivers (OU-Tulsa), Permanent Labor Certification, and I-140 Immigrant Visa cases. She holds two Master's degrees, the first in School Guidance and Counseling from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the second in Education (Community Counseling) from DePaul University.

Robyn Rojas

Lead Immigration Analyst, ARO/DSO

Ms. Rojas advises OUHSC international faculty and staff on employment-based immigration regulations and assists with questions regarding travel, employment, and maintenance of status. She provides support on OU Health H-1B, E-3, TN, Permanent Labor Certification, and I-140 immigrant visas, and is responsible for filing the Conrad Waiver applications for OU Health. Ms. Rojas completed a BA in Spanish from UNC Charlotte and has an MA in International Studies from the University of Oklahoma. Prior to joining OIS, she worked in immigration on the OU Norman campus for twelve years.

Adam Telfer

Immigration Specialist, ARO/DSO

Mr. Telfer advises the OUHSC campus regarding J-1 Research Scholar regulations including travel, employment, and maintenance of status. He is an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) and authorized by the Department of State to issue the DS-2019 to foreign national scholars. Mr. Telfer earned a Bachelor's degree in History from The University of California, Berkeley. 

Megumi Wilson

Immigration Specialist, ARO/DSO

Megumi advises OU-Norman and OU-Tulsa campuses regarding J-1 Research Scholar regulations including travel, employment, and maintenance of status. She is an Alternate Responsive Officer (ARO) and authorized by the Department of State to issue the DS-2019 to foreign national scholars. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from Chukyo University, Japan. Prior to joining OIS, she supported F-1 international students for more than five years.
