International Students
As a University, we must ensure our international students comply with the regulations and requirements of the U.S. Department of State regarding health insurance requirements for exchange visitors and students.The University of Oklahoma offers two health insurance plan options, Plan I and Plan II. International student that do not have the required insurance coverage will be default enrolled in Plan I, and the cost for the coverage will be billed to the student's Bursar account at the beginning of each semester. Students may upgrade to Plan I or add dependents online at http://hr.ou.edu/studenthealth/enroll.asp. The additional cost will be billed to your Bursar account. Options
Waiving Coverage
International students covered under an employer's group plan or plan backed by the full faith and credit of their home country may apply to waive coverage under the University's Student Health Plan. Please read the Waiver Requirements for instructions and eligibility guidelines. Waiver applications are available online during enrollment periods each semester (Fall, Spring, and Summer). Students who choose to waive coverage under the University's Student Health Plan must submit an application each semester a waiver is desired.
