Paid Parental Leave Policy

Effective 9/1/22

On September 1, 2022, Human Resources established a new paid parental leave benefit to allow new and existing benefits-eligible employees two weeks of paid leave following the birth or adoption of a child. The paid parental leave program requires a minimum of one year of continuous benefits-eligible employment status directly preceding eligibility. 

Paid parental leave has been a top initiative for Staff Senate for many years. We recognize and appreciate all their hard work and dedication on this leave enhancement for OU employees.
