B1. Request to Post
Once the PA1 has been approved, it is time to post your position on the jobs.ou.edu site! The university uses Taleo for our postings and tracking applicants for staff positions.
A guide on how to post your position on Taleo can be found
here.
Below are some highlights from the guide. However, for a comprehensive review on how to post a position on jobs.ou.edu, please use the guide referenced above.
- The working title of a requisition can differ from the official title AS LONG AS the working title is not the same as the title of a different job code. (I.e. A job that has a “Program Manager” as the official title cannot be advertised as a “Director.”)
- A salary for a job cannot be advertised higher than what was approved on the PA1. (If you want a higher salary advertised, reach out to Compensation at HRCompensation@ou.edu.)
- The advertised education and experience listed on the job code must match EXACTLY what is in Peoplesoft. (If you want different education and experience listed, reach out to Compensation at HRCompensation@ou.edu.)
- When submitting the requisition for approval, please attach the PA1 to the requisition.
- A FLSA – non-exempt (hourly) position must be listed on the jobs page for at least five (5) working days or until three (3) qualified candidates have been referred to the hiring department. (Staff Handbook 3.3.1)
- A FLSA – exempt (salaried) position must be listed for at least seven (7) working days regardless of the number of applicants. (Staff Handbook 3.3.1)
- SUR numbers are not needed for full time Staff, Academic, Graduate Assistant, or Residents/Fellows. If this position is one of these, enter “0” in the SUR field. If your position is for a temporary appointment or for a student appointment that does require a background check, a SUR number will be needed.
- If you want the Talent Acquisition team to screen candidates’ qualifications as they apply, please do so by placing a * before the working title.
If the Talent Acquisition team has any concerns, they will reach out to you before it is posted. If not, you will be notified via email once your position is on the
jobs.ou.edu site.
